Sen. Boxer Says RNC Chairman Steele Is Just Like the Taliban for Disagreeing with Obama Nobel Win

By PoliJAM | October 9, 2009

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) accuses RNC Chairman Michael Steele of being just like the Taliban for disagreeing with the Norwegian Nobel Committee for awarding President Barack Obama the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

It may be pointed out that the Taliban and many liberal Democrats are on the same page in wanting U.S. forces to leave Afghanistan.

The following is what Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said of President Barack Obama’s 2009 Nobel Peace Prize win:

We have seen no change in his strategy for peace. He has done nothing for peace in Afghanistan. He has not taken a single step for peace in Afghanistan or to make this country stable.

We condemn the award of the Nobel Peace Prize for Obama. We condemn the institute’s awarding him the peace prize. We condemn this year’s peace prize as unjust.

RNC Chairman Michael Steele:

The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights.

One thing is certain – President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.

It would be the Taliban that would want to suppress freedom of speech and the right to criticize our government or the leaders of it. So would that make those on the left equivalent to the Taliban?

My dog has acheived more than Obama wish he could.
This is a disgrace to the people who really deserve it. Maybe he promised the Noble Peace Committee a large bailout. It seems that he his ready to take, take, take from hard working, taxpaying, true americans so others don’t have to get off their lazy butts. People! Wake Up! 2010 congressional elections are not far behind. Please vote for the right reasons. This congress, mostly Democratic tax cheats need to be gone in the next election. If we don’t, we are really going have nothing to leave with our kid’s generation.

As a registered Republican I am sick of the political games and am embarassed that being against the “other” party is more important than being an American, and being proud when the world essentially says “thank you” the president our American system of government has established in that position.

Deb, good thing you qualified your comment by stating you were a registered Republican, otherwise I would have thought you were a leftist troll.
