New Book: Bill Ayers Helped Obama Write ‘Dreams From My Father’

By PoliJAM | September 22, 2009

Christopher Andersen, author of the new book Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage, writes that not only were domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and Barack Obama good friends, but Ayers even helped Obama pen the future president’s book Dreams of My Father.

Speaking with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Anderson also reveals the closeness of Michelle Obama to Reverend Jeremiah Wright and the large influence the future first lady played in helping Barack Obama make it to the White House.

HANNITY: The thing that fascinated me – and I had read this at some other point, I don’t remember exactly where, but you described it – You write a lot about Bill Ayers and Reverend Wright. And Reverend Wright even weighed in on the yes we can slogan. Very positively you write about that. — But Bill Ayers helped him with his book and you actually pick up – you found the literary devices and themes bear a jarring similarity to Ayer’s own writings.

CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON: That’s true and they were they were good friends. I mean, during the campaign of course they tried to-

HANNITY: They were good friends?

CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON: -Yes of course they were

HANNITY: So he denied it?

CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON: Yes he did. And there was a little bit of a literary cabal ball there that was interesting in Chicago. They were all giving each other quotes, blurbs to promote their respective books.

HANNITY: So Sean Hannity was right when I said that they were close friends.

CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON: Yea

HANNITY: He started his political career in his house.

CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON: Yes

HANNITY: He sat on boards with him, gave speeches with him.

CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON: Yes.

HANNITY: They were good friends.

CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON: They were, they were friends.

I wonder if “Dreams of My Father” really a true book. I’ve read it & have doubts about the truthfulness of it.

Pathetic. This clown with no access tries to resurrect one of the weaker right wing memes from the election, and pimps it on Hannity to try and sell his book

[...] . except that Cashill has one weapon in his arsenal that no conspiracy theorist would ever have:  completely independent corroboration of the fact that a panicked Obama, sitting on a $150,000 advance and utterly incapable of writing, [...]
