Harry Reid Holds An “Invitation Only,” No Questions Allowed ObamaCare Town Hall
By PoliJAM | September 1, 2009
Forgoing a town hall meeting like the rest of his colleagues in Congress, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) hosted an “invitation only,” no questions allowed health care reform rally at UNLV Monday night.
Joining the “very controlled environment” were health care reform supporting union members and health care industry workers in order to prevent the spineless senator from having to face his upset constitutents – and likely to help boost Harry’s morale.
One Nevadan grew frustrated at not being able to speak to his representative as he was turned away at the door:
“This is a… I’m a tax paying citizen in Nevada. (Harry Reid is) supposed to represent me and… Who’s supposed to represent you?”
A couple days earlier, Mr. Reid shockingly told the Reno Gazette-Journal that the death of Sen. Edward Kennedy was going to have a positive affect for the Democrats in the health care reform debate.
Q: How will U.S. Sen. (Edward) Kennedy’s death affect things?
A: I think it’s going to help us. He hasn’t been around for some time. We’re going to have a new chairman of that committee, it’ll be, I don’t know for sure, but I think Sen. (Chris) Dodd, (D-Conn.). He has a right to take it. Either him or (U.S. Sen. Tom) Harkin, (D-Iowa), whichever one wants it can have it. I think he (Kennedy) will be a help. He’s an inspiration for us. That was the issue of his life and he didn’t get it done.
There should be little wonder as to why spineless Harry is trailing his potential GOP challengers in recent polls.
