GOP Candidates Again Under Attack From Musicians
By PoliJAM | February 15, 2008

Republican candidates have again come under attack for using songs performed by democratic musicians. Two weeks ago John Mellencamp asked the McCain campaign to no longer play Mellencamp music that the McCain camp had been using at campaign rallies. Now the Huckabee campaign has come under fire for using music from the band Boston.
Tom Scholz, the chief songwriter and founder of the band Boston, complained in a letter to the Huckabee campaign, that he did not want the campaign to continue to use the Band’s song “More Than a Feeling.” The letter read, “Boston has never endorsed a political candidate, and with all due respect, would not start by endorsing a candidate who is the polar opposite of most everything Boston stands for.”
A member of the Huckabee campaign called the letter ridiculous, since the campaign plays all sorts of music and never once said that any of the musicians endorsed them.
