One Response to “MSNBC Host Says “Oh God” Before Jindal’s GOP Reponse to Obama’s Speech”

MSNBC has been in the tank for Obama since the early primaries when they jumped all over Hillary Clinton and Obama could do no wrong.

Chris Matthew’s even found himself in the semi-ridiculous position of saying that Obama “sent a thrill up my leg”.

This MSNBC love of Obama is only surpassed by a disdain for the Bush administration, as well as, seemingly, the Republican party as a whole.

The overall vitriol towards anything Republican can best be seen through the personality of Keith Olbermann, whose mocking, cynical, manipulative behavior towards stories, is unabashedly anti-Republican, yet he attempts to maintain a fradulent air of objectivity. (Others, such as Rachel Maddow, who also drip of the left, are more open about their loyalties)

Chris Matthews, while having his opinion which seems left of center, at least poses intellectually honest questions and raises intellectually honest issues, attempting to look at things objectively. Something Olbermann seems incapable of.

When I heard the “Oh God” comment, my first thought was that this was Olbermann saying this. This would fit with his generally caustic and cynical approach. Then, however, on reflection it occurred to me that someone religious would be much more likely to make an “oh God” comment than someone not religious. Matthews, being a practicing Catholic, actually may have been more likely to have made the comment. As can be seen from Olbermann’s past negative attitudes towards religion, his trivialization and revisionism about his own religious background, and obviously non-practicing status, it seems much less likely he would say “Oh God”.
