Rep. Weiner on Passing Health Bill After Brown’s Win: When ‘Pigs Fly Out of My Ass’
By PoliJAM | January 20, 2010
With Republican Scott Brown’s victory in the Massachusetts special election clear at that point, liberal Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner (NY) mocked the continued discussions of the status of health care negotiations by Democratic House leaders on Tuesday night.
“They’re talking as if, ‘What our deal is, what our negotiations are at the White House’ — yeah, and then the last line is, ‘Pigs fly out of my ass,’ or something like that … it’s just, we’ve got to recognize we are in an entirely different scenario.”
After hearing Weiner’s latest comments, one would think that he is now a clear ‘no’ on health care reform.
However, the White House is said to think that comments such as this from fellow Democrats is just anger following the loss of their Senate super-majority and that such rankling will soon subside.
But the anger from the American people at a continued pursuit by Democrats of a partisan government takeover of the U.S. health care system would likely not subside for a long time.
