Congressman: Dems Changed Bill Language to Fuel More Money Into ACORN

By PoliJAM | December 18, 2009

Legislation was recently passed by the House that gives more than a billion dollars to community organizations, with ACORN being the top recipient of the groups receiving such federal taxpayers.

According to Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), Democrats had language changed in the bill in order to funnel money to the embattled community organization so that now “it’s not enough to be indicted, you have to be indicted and convicted not to get the funds.”

“Clearly this language was directed in order to fuel more money into ACORN. ACORN, frankly, is the left’s shock troops on the government dime. And for us, we’re tired of seeing the Democrats pay ACORN basically for political work.”

It used to be for government workers and contractors, that the mere appearance of impropriety was enough to cause alarm. Why are the standards for Congress not the same as a GS-5 Purchasing Agent or a member of the military? They work for US!
