DeMint: Voters Must Vote Out ObamaCare Pols or They Will Have Conceded in ‘Battle for Our Country & Principles’

By PoliJAM | November 19, 2009

Speaking with Glenn Beck on his radio program on Thursday, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) said that if the Democratic health care reform proposal is passed and becomes law, the American voters must either hold the ObamaCare supporting lawmakers responsible for their votes at the polls, or they will have shown to have conceded in the “bigger battle for our country and principles we believe in.”

“If this passes this is the tipping point,” Beck said. The Senate Democratic proposal unveiled by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on Wednesday will destroy the American economy, Beck and DeMint both agreed.

GLENN: If this passes this is the tipping point. If this passes, the American economy as you know it and I don’t know how long it will take, but this will destroy it. Do you think that’s overstating?

DEMINT: No, I don’t. I really said all along I think this is the big battle for the president but it is also an even bigger battle for our country and principles we believe in, and if we give into this, if we accept this idea that you can pass this massive overhaul of health care in a couple of days it is just — they think Americans are stupid. I’m just so hopeful Americans stand up and prove them wrong.
