Poll: Voters Prefer Republicans Over Democrats for the House, 48% to 44%

Boosted by the growing preference of independent voters to be represented by a Republican candidate in their district, Republicans have moved ahead of Democrats in the latest Gallup generic congressional ballot for the 2010 House elections.
As the graph below shows, registered voters prefer Republican candidates 48% to 44%.

According to the poll, independent registered voters favor the Republican candidate by a large 22 point margin – 52% to 30%.
