Dems Lock Up the 218 House Votes Needed for Gov’t Run PelosiCare

By PoliJAM | November 7, 2009

In the face of bipartisan opposition of the Democratic health care reform proposal, House sources have said Saturday evening that Democrats believe they have gathered the 218 votes needed to ram through the House their partisan $1.2 trillion legislation.

As of now, along with every single Republican, 32 Democrats have publicly voiced their disapproval of the Democratic proposal presented on the House floor.

Taking to the House floor at around 6:30 p.m., House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said,

“Today the call will be answered, today we will pass the Affordable Health Care for America Act. This legislation is founded on key principles for a healthy America: innovation, competition, and prevention.”

The Speaker went on to say that the bill “honors our responsibility to our children, not adding not one dime to the deficit” – which the many opposed to the bill deem as laughable.

Saying that “there’s a cap on what you pay in, but there is no cap on the benefit that you receive” from the bill, one would think that they were hearing a used car salesperson trying to sell them a beat up old lemon and not the Speaker of the House pitching the benefits of the legislation.

“It is fiscally sound, it is paid for, and it reduces the deficit by tens of billions of dollars over the next ten years. This legislation is a result of extensive deliberation here in the Congress where we’ve held more than a hundred hearings, and it’s a product of extensive input from the American people – members of Congress that held over three thousand town meetings.”

With bipartisanship only occurring in opposition to the bill, it seems that the only “extensive input” that the House Speaker can be referring to is that which came from the Democratic liberal base.

Remember, if you love the government run Post Office, you will just love government run health care. As the president himself admitted this past August,

“If you think about it, UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.”

These idiots were told not to do this during their summer recess. Anyone who signs this bill should update their resumes right after.
