CNN’s Cafferty and Blitzer Hate on Popular Conservative Sarah Palin After Cafferty Ponder’s Her Next Move

By PoliJAM | February 8, 2010

Via CNN’s Cafferty File:

Sarah Palin is making it clear that she’s not going anywhere – and she may just have her sights trained on the White House.

The former Alaska governor says she would consider a run for president in 2012 if the situation is right for the nation and her family. That’s swell.

Palin, who was woefully unprepared to be John McCain’s running mate, acknowledges that she “sure as heck better be more astute on these national issues” than she was two years ago. Seriously.

And maybe that’s why Palin says she’s started receiving daily political and economic briefings over e-mail from various Washington experts. That should do it.

Palin delivered the keynote speech to the Tea Party convention in Nashville over the weekend. Palin used much of the speech to go after Pres. Obama on his national security and spending policies, describing him as a “law professor at a lectern,” criticizing him for “apologizing for America,” and asking the Tea Partiers: “How’s that hopey, changey stuff working out for ya?” She even has her own language.

Meanwhile – it appears that Palin had written crib sheets on the inside of her hand, including the words “energy,” “tax” and “lift American spirits” – likely for the question and answer session after her speech.

That would be the very same speech where Palin criticized Pres. Obama for relying too much on Teleprompter.

Here’s my question to you: What would you advise Sarah Palin to do next?

Incumbent Dem Lincoln Trails GOP’s Boozman Big in Arkansas Senate Race Due to Unpopular Obama Policies

By PoliJAM | February 8, 2010

Incumbent Democratic Senator Blanche Lincoln appears set to lose her reelection battle in Arkansas in a rout as polls find her trailing her toughest Republican challenger Rep. John Boozman by wide margins.

Despite being considered a centrist Democrat, Arkansans view her as too closely aligned with the unpopular liberal initiatives coming from the White House.

As a result, it may already soon be time to put this seat in the takeover column for the Republican Party.

Lansing’s Dem Mayor Announces Mich. Governor Run, Already Says He Will Call On Federal Govt. to Hand State Cash

By PoliJAM | February 8, 2010

Appearing today on CNN’s American Morning, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero announced his candidacy for governor of Michigan while at an auto supplier plant in Detroit.

Unfortunately for many outside of Michigan, one of the first things Bernero said he would do as governor was to call for help from the federal government to help the state create green jobs.

“We need top quality technology in order to have a pipeline to prepare for those green jobs. But the federal government has to step up and do their job, too. You’re right about that. Because in other countries, they are stepping up and they are making investments.”

So if elected Michigan’s next governor, Bernero will be basically begging for more federal grant money for so-called green jobs and likely more bailout money as well for the suffering auto industry.

The other 49-states can’t afford this guy.

Jay Barbree: If Obama budget approved, ‘America will instantly become the 3rd rate nation in space behind Russia and China’

By PoliJAM | February 8, 2010

Reporting from Cape Canaveral, Florida, NBC News’ Jay Barbree reports that if the budget proposed by the Obama administration is approved, the United States will be spending $2. 5 billion to end the current space program when only $4 billion is needed to complete the program.

After having spent $10 billion on the current program, many likely wouldn’t think that President Obama would target this project for $1.5 billion in savings when it will cost the government $2.5 billion to trash $10 billion worth of work that was already put into the project.

On top of the hard work already completed that will be wasted if this budget move is approved, Jay Barbree says, “America will instantly become the third rate nation in space behind Russia and China.”

With all the wasted federal expenditures and bloated government agencies supported by the Obama administration as the government continues to grow and grow, losing out to other nations in space superiority seems like an odd budget cut.

On Saturday, Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah) warned that the move will have a huge negative effect on our defense program as well since the Pentagon relies on a great deal of the research obtained from NASA’s space research.

For the sake of his bloated bureaucracy, the president seems to be unilaterally doing more harm to America’s space and military superiority than any of our enemies are able to do.

Michigan GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Launches Campaign With “One Tough Nerd” Super Bowl Ad

By PoliJAM | February 8, 2010

The Detroit News reports:

The ad wars in Michigan’s race for governor officially kicked off Sunday with a 60-second commercial for Republican candidate Rick Snyder that started on the Super Bowl pregame show and will cost at least $1 million.

The spot, called “one tough nerd,” highlights Snyder’s formative years in Battle Creek, his college days at the University of Michigan and his career as chief of the Gateway Inc. computer company and other ventures.

“Michigan has tried career politicians. We’ve tried happy talk. And, we’re 50th out of 50. Dead last,” a voice-over says, referring to the state’s 14.6 percent jobless rate, last in the nation.

The ad shows photos of several gubernatorial candidates, including those of Snyder’s Republican opponents.

“His 10-point plan to reinvent Michigan is so detailed that; well, it’s likely no politician could even understand it,” the narrator continues. “But, it’s the way to finally save our state,” Snyder says. And the voice-over concludes: “Rick Snyder for Michigan. He’s one tough nerd.”

Palin: The Obama-Pelosi-Reid Agenda Is Out of Touch, Out of Date, and Running Out of Time

By PoliJAM | February 6, 2010

“The Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda – It’s gonna leave us less secure, more in debt, and more under the thumb of big government, and that is out of touch, and it’s out of date. And if Scott Brown is any indication, it’s running out of time.”
